Royal Flush is the 6th in Jake Samson & Rosie Vicente series by Shelley Singer. It's on US Kindle countdown at $1.99 for about 1/2 a day more. Other books in this series have previously been free or discounted, but I hadn't previously picked up this one, which is the last in the series.

The SIXTH thrilling mystery in the Jake Samson and Rosie Vicente detective series.
"Great bar scenes, a wonderfully wry narrative, and the obvious nonsexual affection between the Jake and Rosie will have readers clamoring for more." -Library Journal
Laid-back, unlicensed PI Jake Samson is understandably nervous about infiltrating a local Marin County neo-Nazi group called the Aryan Command. After all, he is Jewish. But when the doe-eyed teenage goddaughter of his oldest friend begs him to help her boyfriend--harebrained, reformed skinhead Royal Subic--Jake finds he can't "just say no." Turns out Royal, who's too terrified to defect, is not only disenchanted with his recent brush with right-wing extremism (which includes a regrettable tattoo), he's afraid for his life--and he has the murder of a Command member-turned-defector to point to for proof. But as Jake investigates exactly what the kid's gotten himself into, a complex conspiracy begins to unfold, including a plan to assassinate an outspoken talk-show host, a complicated web of local police and governmental infiltrators (some of them dirty themselves), and a possible international connection.
Jake turns to longtime friend, former tenant, and current boss Rosie Vicente (much has changed since their last outing), and the two embark on an adventure full of loathsome racists, menacing wannabes, and dangerous megalomaniacs amidst the Bay area's brooding biker bar scene.
"...surprising twists, and Jake's sharp-edged humor" -Publishers Weekly
"...one of the nicer guys in the private eye business, who operates in a relaxed, casual style without need for macho posturing.” -Washington Post

The THIRD action-packed mystery in the witty Jake Samson and Rosie Vicente detective series.
“Breathtaking action is offset by the wise-cracking Jake and Rosie. The tension will keep you reading all night long. Compelling characterization by Singer makes this series a must-read, with authentic details and witty dialogue.” -Mystery Time
A CULT LEADER, A CACHE OF CASH, AN UNHOLY MESS!
An ark in the middle of suburban Oakland was interesting but not strange by California standards. Even one built by peaceful cultists preparing for the coming flood. Until sometime private eye Jake Samson is hired to find Noah, their leader, who has disappeared with a lovely devotee and a quarter million in cash. The cult suspects foul play. The police aren’t convinced.
As Jake and his carpenter sidekick, Rosie, trail the wealthy visionary from a health-food factory in Sonoma to a casino in Tahoe, thugs, drugs and the murdered body of Noah’s attractive assistant add up to a lot less than a biblical tale. And Jake's got a gut feeling the floodgates are just the beginning to open.
“Jake remains his loyal, intelligent and quirky self, which is plenty to rejoice about.” -Contra Costa Times
