If I didn't already have a Kindle Touch (the "old" New Basic) I would probably have gotten a New Basic. Advantages of the Kindle Touch for me, nice Kindle lighted case and the ability to add fonts without having to root it. About the only font I use now is Constantia. It's also nice to have 3G for the few times I may need it -- though a WiFi-only version would have been fine.
