I've looked and searched through several forums, and have found only my own OP and replies that begin to address this, and that is from 2014. I've been away, but am back on this so am opening the question more narrowly than in that post.

How can I include 1) cover art and/or 2) TOC in a calibre-generated or modified ebook (.mobi or , supposedly, .azw as well), email it to my Send-to-Kindle email address and have it show up properly in my Kindle account w art and TOC intact? (I've not even TRIED the TOC as yet, but the cover art has so far been replaced with the ugly generic "personal" cover from Amazon.

I LIKE the Send-to-Kindle over the side-loading as it lets me keep and sync notes and highlights across platforms.
