Actually, I hadn't thought of that - but I think that comparison makes sense.

I actually realized (a month or so after writing it), that I was remembering all the things my family enjoyed doing and that I miss doing with them when I was a child growing up in the 1950s-60s.

The absurdity, of course, is wrapped around those memories.

-- But, as you mention, the comparison you make fits in perfectly with that absurdity.
