Yes you can send docs to your kindke for free, what you can't do is store them on Amazon's servers (in the cloud). I checked tonight and my 10GB Cloud Plan (5GB for Prime/5GB for a Kindle Fire INCLUDES Send to Kindle.
If you can't store your Send to Kindle books in the Cloud you lose Whispersync for them. The problem with your reply from Amazon is it does not mention storing the Send to Kindle books in the Cloud, read it again, word for word. Amazon is precise, Send to Kindle will not have a charge (1) kindle and whispersync have not had any changes (2) where do you see the words 'Send to Kindle can be stored in the Cloud for no charge'
Hello Shari,
This is Jackie from Amazon.com. Thank you for contacting us today about the recent changes to the Amazon Cloud Drive Service. Kindle cloud is unchanged in regards to our send to Kindle documents will continue to not have a charge. Kindle and whispersync have also not had any changes to the service.
Thanks for using Kindle.
Best regards,
Jackie
