Can't speak to the UK--but the notice when I was logged in to check my account/files mentioned that if you have prime, you're basically not affected--well, I updated this below because there is a bit of a change. I do not have ANY idea what happens if you cancel prime. I do have some kindle books up there and I can access those (and the note said I would be able to access anything already up there without a "plan." But if I want to put anything else up there it said I would have to choose a plan.
Okay from other posters,
updated to add: PRIME is affected in that they can have unlimited photos but only 5GB storage included for OTHER things like video and I assume documents/backup/music.
