Beneath Ceaseless Skies!

The pulps, and the newsstands which sold them, are only memories. Today like-minded authors meet their audience via online magazines, with nary a tree pulped!

Spelunking the Kobo store for DRM-free gems has led me to a true diamond this time! The folks at Beneath Ceaseless Skies are producing Literary Adventure Fantasy of the first rank.

Their publications are not free, but (to me) seem well worth the low price. Single issues (seem to be two stories) are $0.99; anthologies $2.99 or $3.99. They ARE, however, DRM-free EPUB2s in the Kobo store!

Many stories can be read there for free. Also, many of the stories are rendered in audio. Subscriptions are available for purchase there, as well. And the art work...!

But for individual issues they will refer you back to your favorite eRetailer. There are currently 19 offerings at Kobo: five yearly anthologies, one steampunk themed anthology, and 13 recent issues.
