In case you are unfamiliar with the concept of Amazon's Whispersync program, here's how it works and how you can save some money on audiobooks with it. If you buy a Kindle ebook, Amazon
sometimes allows you to buy the corresponding audiobook for a reduced price--often a
sharply reduced price. As a result you can sometimes end up paying less--sometimes
much less--than what you would pay for the Audible audio had you purchased it alone, even after taking into account what you have had to pay for the ebook in order to qualify for the reduced price on the audiobook!
Since the audiobook is a "Whispersync" companion, that means that the ebook and the audiobook automatically sync up with each other. For example, if you're reading in the ebook, but decide to listen to the audiobook for a while, when you start it it will automatically begin at the spot where you left off with your reading! You don't get this when you buy the standalone Audible audiobook.
I'm considering it my mission in life (well, at least my mission part of the time in my life, for the time being. ha.) to let Mobilereaders following this thread know about the better Whispersync Companion deals that I come across.
Oh, and I won't lower my standards just to be able to post a Whispersync deal that's cheap. The ebook
must be highly rated or I won't post the deal.
Okay, here's another great Whispersync Companion deal.
The full title of the ebook is
The Adderall Empire: A Life With ADHD and the Millennials' Drug of Choice, by Andrew K. Smith.
The Kindle ebook is rated 4 1/2 stars, from 23 reviews at the present moment.
The ebook is 180 pages, making the audio running time 4 hours and 14 minutes.
The math: $0.00 (ebook (print list price $14.95; digital list(?) price $0.99)) + $3.99 (Whispersync audio) =
$3.99.
