You don't need to deal with kepub if you do not want to. I don't. I side load ePub and it work very well.

I can understand why Amazon is against jailbreaking. If something goes wrong, Amazon is the one who gets calls about it. But what I don't understand is that instead of jailbreaking, why doesn't amazon give more functionality so there would be less or no need to jailbreak.
