Keeping the original copies isn't very useful, they are all a-clutter (usually why one imports into calibre
) however, as said above, it would be generally useful to keep incremental backups of your library.
- For Mac: Time Machine is probably your friend.
- For linux: you can have fun writing an rsync script (linux users would tend to know how...).
- For Windows: I used to suggest FreeFileSync, but they bundle crapware and potential malware these days (standard toolbar/random program "offers", if you recognize, you can opt out so it's probably safe), probably better to try something like SyncToy.
