It is really interesting to see how tools change the way people write, both in code and human language. Although I guess don't have all that many human-language instances... Text message novels? Tools definitely change the ways people code though -- I know that my friends who use Eclipse write veeeery different code from the ones using nano . I'm sure Emacs affects me too, although I notice it most when writing XML, the way the nXML editing mode includes a RelaxNG validator and dynamically highlights markup errors just like spelling errors. Completely painless!
