Sigil's native file format is a an epub. So any platform that runs Sigil will be able to read and open and modify that epub file. I regularly build and test on all 3 platforms: Linux, Windows, and Mac with no problems. If you do decide to go with Sigil, then make sure you download the very latest version Sigil 0.8.4 as it has many serious bug fixes in it that workaround issues in Qt 5.
So no need to worry about mixing platforms or needing to learn another, Sigil runs virtually identically on all 3.
