Goodbye Raleigh, Hello St Louis!

Here we go again! It seems Raleigh isn't going to work out. The apartment complex is the main reason so I am going home. I haven't seen my family in 12 years. So I am once again creating a thread so everyone who is interested can keep track of our even bigger move.

So here is where we are at. My sister in law lives in a apartment community and has a in with the landlord it just seems the apartment right by her is going to be available the first week of April or sooner. So after much calling around my brother has decided we can stay at his house and he will go stay with my SIL and yes it's weird they live in two different places but whatever works right.

We talk to the landlord and it's 95% go on the apartment. It's a 500sq, two bedroom, 1 bath. So it's really tiny which means I have to get rid of even more stuff.

The apartment complex here has been really sneaky. See you are suppose to give a 60 day written notice but we didn't know that and they didn't put that notice with a notice of $150 rent increase till that 60 days had past. So our co-signer won't resign because he just can't swing anymore for rent then what we were paying. The apartment place wont let us sign the lease without cosigner due to unemployment so we are getting charge with breaking the lease which is a $2000 penalty and we don't know if they are going to charge more than that and the leasing office lady won't give us any straight answers. What a mess!

So my in-laws gave us $2500 and told us to go St Louis where the cost of living and rent is much cheaper as they don't know what us they can do. Needless to say my family is really excited from the moment I made the call they have been all running around getting everything we need or finding out what we need. It has been chaotic and super stressful because we are so use to being organized and going down a check list. My family doesn't even know what a check list is. Poor hubby he has no idea what we are getting into.

So here's the plan we pack like mad and pull out of here early Sunday on the 22nd then drive for 7 hours and get a cheap motel to let the cats rest, use the litterbox and get some rest then we will drive straight into St Louis and go to my brother's then rent a storage unit and put everything in it and wait for the apartment to come available. While waiting hubby will be pounding the payment to get a job. He already thanks to my family has several good leads.

It's bittersweet for me as I know how stressful its going to be till we are settled. My main worry of course is my kitties and how they are going to take that long trip. Maisy has done it before when she was 2 but it's going to a long drive. Sweetpea has only done that 4 hour trip before so I don't know what's going to happen but they do know something is up. I've already started packing and keep hoping someone will buy my Kindles for travel money.
