No, I checked. The cc-based key is different.

You are correct. The Mac versions also share a folder, but books downloaded via NookStudy won't open in Nook for Mac and vice versa.
How odd. Seems like it's just a glitch that was probably always there, but we never had any reason to discover it, until now. The fact that two programs use the same folder yet still need to download their own differently encrypted files definitely sounds like a mistake.

"Nobody you know" came back to Alf's blog and explained that the url he provided is based on the way that Nook for PC gets the key. So that will be very useful for Mac and Linux users or anyone who doesn't want to mess around with installing Nookstudy.
