My apologies, but I really have no clue about how the Nook Color (NC) works. I can say that many people have used CC on the NC, so it must be possible.
A word of warning: the NC is severely memory-constrained. Just this week we have received 3 crash reports from NC's because they ran out of memory. These come from apparently two devices, both running Gingerbread.
