amazon are very anti-competition when it comes to browser and reader apps.
For indie apps, I usually contact author to say that i'd buy an ad-free pro version if they sold one via amazon, & usually get no response.
( e.g. the particular foobar2000 controller app that i use a lot is a sideload of the free google version). the ones that amazon sell are not by the same author. He does not reply to email , where I explain that if i were to buy his pro version from google store I would not be able to copy & sideload it. So no sale)
you'd have to ask both amazon and dropbox whey the official aopp is not there. maybe dropbox have not bothered to upload it , but that is unlikely.

I don't think it's unlikely at all, since there are 2 other apps that are explicitly from Cloud Storage companies, and at least one that will allow you to connect to multiple cloud storage accounts...including Dropbox and Google Drive. I'm pretty sure if the goal was to block access to other cloud storage services, *all* other cloud apps would be blocked. I find it more likely that Dropbox doesn't see a need to explicitly add their app to the Amazon store, since it's available for download directly on the Dropbox website when you log in to your account from your Fire.
