Hi there, seems I have the same problem. I decide to update on my kobo N647 several months ago after many years without apply any updates. After applying forced critical update to the kobo, it seemed to work ok, but battery life is short lasting only a couple of days at best with no Wi-Fi on. When I went to charge the unit put on manage instead of keep reading, had it plugged in, unplugged unit as it rebooted and applied software updates. Now shows no books found and no external storage. Followed steps on kobo site and hard reset which wiped out all internal books. Will not show up on Calibre thru usb or wi-fi.
Can someone please send me the pre-update firmware and possibly a link/procedure to how to apply the firmware and restore functionality to my reader? I would truly appreciate it.
