While it didn't list Big Bird or Oscar as hosts, it did show The Muppets made a cameo on SNL so they may have appeared there. Also, The Muppets were cast members (using a set of, as far as I know, characters unique to the show) in the First Season of SNL. They were eventually dropped, although my understanding is they have made minor appearances elsewhere.
New trivia item: In the Pink Panther series of movies, the actual Pink Panther is a diamond with a panther-shaped flaw (Source: Wikipedia).

I say this only because I remember it, but "The Muppets" were some of my favorite regular characters on SNL in its first season. These were special characters created for the show -- not the Sesame Street Muppets -- and described as "Muppets who can stay up late." The skits were occasionally risqué and never highlights of the show, but I liked them.
