I stand corrected. I was going by the recently-released People Special on Saturday Night Live (SNL). I checked Wikipedia and it does show Pee-Wee Herman (not Paul Reubens) as a host.

While it didn't list Big Bird or Oscar as hosts, it did show The Muppets made a cameo on SNL so they may have appeared there. Also, The Muppets were cast members (using a set of, as far as I know, characters unique to the show) in the First Season of SNL. They were eventually dropped, although my understanding is they have made minor appearances elsewhere.

New trivia item: In the Pink Panther series of movies, the actual Pink Panther is a diamond with a panther-shaped flaw (Source: Wikipedia).
