HIMS, paperbooks are acceptable for the literary club. I specifically remember the Gabriel Garcia Marquez and Yukio Mishima books were only in paper. Both are now available in ebooks since we read them.
I was quite surprised to find that The Master was not available in my library either as eBook or in audio format. Even Overdrive doesn't have it--while it did have Fugitive Pieces. Tóibín, after all, is a well known author and quite a few of his other books are easily obtainable.

It is true that we have had other books which required use of a pb. And The Master is available through Book Depository.
