Kobo Glo Windows 7 USB device not recognized

I had to change computers due to a fried mother board.

HP8200 work station running windows 7

When I plug it in the option to continue reading or manage library comes up when I select manage library it tries to install the driver and comes back with "USB device installed is not recognized".

I've tried every cord and port available no change.

I can put it on another computer(s) also running windows 7 and it is recognized every time.

What gives? I don't want to have to use my work computer to get books that's a no no. Using the wife's machine is courting disaster as she has so much "stuff" on it.

I shouldn't have to buy a new machine just to manage my kobo.
