@cager - if the 'arrogant youth (ay)' has their own computer with access to the same local network as your own then you could give them access to your library via the calibre server facility. By default the server lists books in Date added order (newest first).

The 'ay' would then have the freedom to download what they want, when they want (providing the server is running), and the ability to maintain their own library as they want. And, if they didn't want to use calibre, they'd also be free to do that

Who knows they may even be a history book that takes their fancy - The Kings Revenge is pretty gruesome
