It's a publisher sale. The original post gave ample information: "here are three places you can get it." Enough said. An alert doesn't need to link to every ebook vendor on the planet in order to be useful.

The reason I posted those links is because I did check a few other eBook stores and at ebooks.com it's $7.99. So the statement that it's available at the sale price at every US retailer is actually incorrect.
