I do agree with your other point, the KT2 is indeed low cost.

The KT2 prefix is a bit of a misnomer -
Internally, it is the second generation K4 (+ ir touchscreen - buttons + newer SoC).

So following our general naming pattern, it would have been the K42 -
Which certainly would have been more confusing than helpful.
(Hmm... I never posted a KT2 and K4 internals picture, side-by-side, but I could if anyone is interested.)
