The "cheap one" is the newer. It has a newer processor than the old one and uses the same firmware as do Glo, Mini, Aura HD. The C model devices that I have seen had all better contrast than the older models (also far better contrast than the Glo). Some of the older (= non-C models) did not have a internal SD. The advantage of the internal SD is that a recovery is possible in case you brick the device.
