Ah well. Bought a new SD card (8GB was the smallest I could find), restored the image to it (after patching the serial #), resized the Kobo partition, let it go through setup (two updates installed) and then tried to connect via USB. Exact same issue.

Must have had one too many drops to the floor of late

So reckon I will just keep reading all the content I have on it, keep track manually as to what I have finished, and then watch out for a sale either on the Aura, or one of the new devices.

I'd kept thinking of late when I saw the sales on for the Aura that I should take advantage of them, but never did

Or I could just watch out for a used Glo for sale on Kijiji.

At least I have an 8GB card I could use....
