And if it is just an ordinary epub, there is no reason to make an app out of it. I would understand that, if you made a html book with javascript that is not possible as an epub (like interactive fiction that tracks decisions).
I agree - if I want to read an ebook, I don't want it made into an app. Just sell me the ebook. I have seen a few ebooks that were an app and they were terrible. There was no way to increase font size or zoom in. I don't understand why they made it an app because it just removed functionality.
