Kobo works for borrowing from my public library (.epub), for some free online book files, and for Nook downloads I might buy. I've also been acquiring .pdf files of some older ("classic") books, and my Kobo of course accommodates them too.

I wonder if there are decent, effective apps for resaving Kindle files to .epub? Can anyone recommend anything? (I use Mac computers.) If so, is there anything free that's good, or is the only good stuff something I'd need to buy?
