The word "Christian" never appears as an adjective in the New Testament (the first place where it appears), only as a noun. I put quotation marks around the word (and there are several others that I do that way, too) in order to indicate that I do not agree with the way that I am using it, but I have acquiesced, anyway, to a common usage of the word.
