I've effectively 'cancelled' my GMX account by removing it from various places I was using it - mainly forums, mailing lists and the like.
It must be a problem at UI. They're an €8B outfit listed on the DAX, and one of Germany's biggest ISP's, so you'd hope they'd know how to fix it. I lost them in mid-November, the other incidents I know of have happened in the months since.
IMO three months of persistent long lasting outages is just not good enough. But it was free so I can't complain. At least the men from MAD didn't steal my mail like the NSA men did.
