Diagnose my Kindle DX-G problem, please

It doesn't always happen, but when it does I can't read on it.

I'll turn it on and flip through some pages and etc., and then the ghosting will start, especially as I flip as rapidly as posssilbe.

BUT, the ghosting will be replaced by the screen pixels (?) turning slowly dark, so that instead of a nice, bright viewing screen, I have a darkened screen. (Not completely dark.)

This will sometimes happen especially when using the little square button to do something....but not always.

I can't really discern a pattern.

The battery is fully charged, and holds a charge.

Perhaps one of one million resistors on the circuit board is going bad, or has gone bad?

Any suggestion on what may be going bad?
