Actually, even in paper books I didn't pay any attention to page numbers. If you're using an ebook for a scholarly reference, you should probably make sure that 1) they can be used and 2) what the receiving party considers to be adequate.

I'm with missimpossible above. I like 'minutes left in chapter'.
