Once every couple of weeks, usually on Tuesday, one of the cafés around the corner flushes and cleans the system that they use to tap beer (vats are in the basement with hoses running to the tap). The result is that the rest of the day my toilet stinks of stale beer. I don't know where the smell comes from; it doesn't smell anywhere else, just my toilet on the third floor.
