I like it when authors remember that human beings do not go through our days narrating everything to the invisible friend who follows us around. We observe and reflect, and occasionally our minds wander. This first person - Janie Morris - feels like a real person, and the reason I normally loathe first person perspective is that so few writers mange to pull that off.

I do enjoy first person when it's written well. One book I was trying to read but not sure I will try it again is Lick by Kylie Scott. I find the heroine's voice to be boring, the writing weak and the first person is not done very well. I couldn't get past the fourth chapter.
