I uninstalled Sigil. Deleted all Sigil folders. Deleted all registry sigil references. Downloaded v0.8.4 again. Reinstalled - no longer getting error windows or window waiting cursor - nothing.
Only one Event Viewer error now:

Windows 7 Ultimate, SP1. All updates current.
24GB RAM, i7 920@2.67GHz
Note: v0.8.1 was working OK - but I was not been working on multiple books one after the other (which was causing the original problem).
Also, no errors for any other program.
