Wordpress software is offered as part of my web hosting package (which I've had for decades).
When deciding on doing a blog as well, I tried it out as trying out Blogger (now part of Google) and decided that Blogger was the better choice because it was much more straight-forward to use.
I'm more than happy with my decision at this point.
