Last night we had a major blizzard, but it only lasted about 10 minutes or so. Snow was pouring down and the winds were roaring. Thinking I might get stranded at the hospital, I ran down to get something to eat but by the time I sat down with my dinner, the snow had stopped. The winds didn't, however, and when I arrived at the hospital this morning the temperature was 15° F. If it had been any colder, I would have had to zip up my hoodie for the one block outside walk from the E.R. to the Critical Care entrance. While zipping the front of my hoodie might be optional, however, I WILL wear my gloves the next time. My hands got c-o-l-d on that short walk.
Funny thing about last night. When I was leaving on the shuttle to go to the Hospitality House, most cars had no snow on them, but a handful had a good covering. The snow must have fallen a lot heavier in certain spots of Richmond than in others.
