From previous reports I think this happens if the SD card was formatted and used in a different phone. Kitkat does all sorts of weird things with permissions, and apparently the "user" that creates folders can differ between phones.

Things to try in increasing order of destructiveness.
  1. Remove the folder Android.data.com.multipie.calibreandroid
  2. Remove the Android folder. Of course, this will remove data from other apps (if there is any)
  3. Reformat the SD card and try again.

You can also try checking the advanced option "SD Cards on Android 4.4+" (Tarjetas SD en Android 4.4+) at the bottom of the settings. The problem is that if the permissions are wrong then manually navigating to the folder won't fix anything.
