Thanks for that Kovid and others.

Two final questions before I start an incredible amount of recovery.
What is the guaranteed method of Calibre Library backup so that the db files are OK?

Is there anyway now (or possible addon request) that Calibre can highlight books that are not in the database while viewing the Calibre library normally ie not having to run a report?
