Dropbox page synchronization possible?

As a refugee from the Amazon/Kindle ecosystem, I find myself now reading on a Kobo Aura H2O and on my Android phone using the Moonreader+ app (which is a great app, by the way). But I miss WhisperSync. Moonreader syncs the last page read to Dropbox in a .po file (whatever the heck that is), so that you can synchronize your last page read among multiple Android devices using Moonreader, and it works great.

So my question is -- has anyone tried to figure out a way that our Kobos can access and read the Moonreader last page read info on Dropbox to sync the last page read to and from the Kobo? I'm not a coder, so the task is beyond me, but I'm wondering if it seems possible to someone who is?

And, before anyone suggests it, I'm specifically talking about sideloaded books. (My understanding is that if you purchase books from the Kobo store -- which I have never done because of their outrageous prices -- syncing with the Android Kobo reader app is possible, but that's not helpful or the solution I'm looking for in my situation.)

Thanks in advance for any thoughts/help.
