I did turn off images. I prefer totally blank black screens when device not in use.
You didn't have a choice of no image on the old Nook. An author or a nature scene were the only choices.

If I disconnect via the command on the W7pro computer, the computer totally ignores the Kobo even as a storage or media device in the same session unless I reboot the Kobo. It does not show up under drives as media on the second connection. I can plug my phone in and disconnect via the same command, and replugging in the phone since I forgot to add a book, mp3, etc. will be allowed. The computer will recognize the media device and I can use the ext. SD card. I haven't looked under Device Manager yet.
