The first post in this thread has a list of working coupons. Just about every month, Kobo has a trivia contests--this provides coupons for small publishers, indie works and sometimes other books. They also run a sale just about every weekend and there is usually a promo code for that weekend. Those coupons are good on a set list of books (different each time they do it). Sometimes people get a coupon in an email, and it's generally good on a set list of books.

You can watch this thread for news, sign up for Kobo's newsletter or follow various book blogs that blog the deals. This thread is probably the best and most active.
