Actually I think that number is considerably higher than 10%. Nonetheless, I think the sentiment is utterly wrong. If your old version is working for you, that's awesome. Keep that phone out of the landfill and resist the disposable mindset as long as possible, for sure. But dont expect the world to waste dev resources for you, slowing progress for everyone else. You want new, upgraded features, expect to need a new, upgraded device. There are cases of needlessly forced obsolescence to be sure, but Moore's Law -driven open source mobile device tech isn't automatically one of them.
