The poem seems like it would lend itself to being put to music. I wonder if anyone has ever tried?

I'm not very sophisticated, though, when it comes to love poetry. My favorite love poem is still the one that goes "Roses are red . . . ."

I said that Poe often was not a very loving person toward others. One whom he genuinely seemed to love was his 13-year-old first cousin, whom he married. Ack! But, to be fair, women did marry at a younger age than they do now . . . .

I must have had a deprived childhood--all that I ever had to read from E.A.P. was cool stuff like "The Pit and the Pendulum."
