Instead of the "Install update", "Install partial update" that confuse some users, you could use something like "Full update, clear KSM", "Partial update, keep KSM", "Install update but clear KSM", "Install update and keep KSM", or equivalent.
Anyway, thank your efforts.

Your are right, I am myself not very happy with "install update" and "install partial update." I am thankfull for any proposals (preferable by native speakers). There are some restrictions: only English letters and numbers (no punctation marks); it must fit into one line on the screen.
I think it is not so easy to find short and telling designations.
"install update" installs anything that is in KoboRoot.tgz. Whether KSM will still work after this depends on what files were in KoboRoot.tgz.
"install partial update" installs everything of KoboRoot.tgz with the exception of /etc/init.d/rcS, /usr/local/Kobo/udev/ac, plug, sd, and usb.
It is also not easy to tell the user which update option to choose in a given situation. Only for original Kobo FW updates it is easy: take the first option if you want to get rid of KSM; the second if you want to keep it.
