Really not happy.
I have been using Calibre for ages, and recently updated to the latest version. Now, whenever I start it, it totally freezes my system - mouse will no longer respond to commands. System is Win8 (NOT 8.1)
If anyone can tell me a quick way around this, it'd be great. However, I strongly suspect a basic incompatibility, and I will have to download some earlier version of Calibre or search around for another program to do my conversions.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

What version of calibre were you running before you updated to latest version?
You could go back to that version. Downloads are here ==>>
Previous calibre releases
You'll need to uninstall the installed version (2.19 ?) using Control Panel, you won't lose anything (preferences, PIs, libraries) but to be sure you could follow this procedure ==>>
How do I backup calibre?
Then you could install latest Portable and see if it works.
