0.8.4 does produce ePubs with embedded woff files, that pass epub-check and work fine in the readers I've checked. Only the additional features are not available.
I think adding full support (doesn't seem difficult to implement) will be beneficial as opposed to saying 'i-wont' treat 'foreign files' equally ...
