Supporting WOFF font embedding is a requirement for epub 3 but not epub2 as I understand things. Do you know of any mainstream epub2 readers that will properly handle embedded .woff font files? I believe that .woff fonts are basically ttf or opentype fonts with extra compression and extra metadata but I am not 100% sure.
If you actually want the fonts to work with most epub2 readers, I would stick to ttf font files.
Either way, expect it to be part of future Sigil epub3-aware releases.
