Thank you all for your input in this thread. Feeling much better about making this purchase and eagerly awaiting its delivery. There sure is a wealth of knowledge at this site.
There is a concern about ebooks that is not clear in my head. Ownership.
When we make an ebook purchase, say at Kobo, we do own the data file, yes? Are we "allowed" to manage this file as we see fit, or is it anchored at Kobo?
I have purchased and downloaded several ebooks from other sources and have those files saved to the hd. At the one merchant, there were 3 formats available, so I downloaded one of each, didn't know what I was going to do for the long run. Presently using Calibre and Adobe reader without issues reading from the desktop computer.
