I wouldn't go for a really off brand, however cheap. I've done it in the past and it's not worth it - lots of headaches and in the end a waste of money. I'd go for a factory refurb of a known brand; maybe the first Nexus 7, for instance.

ETA: I just googled and saw one online for $105 and some change.
